| Ahhh,
the new cabinets arrive -- an exciting moment
in any kitchen renovation! A crucial turning
point in seeing your new kitchen take shape,
as the dust and heavy hammering of the rough
construction give way to the fine finish work.
There is light at the end of the tunnel!
This
kitchen features the spectacular cooking hearth
in mahogany, flanked by a pair of cabinets finished
in traditional "buttermilk" milkpaint.
The
rest of the kitchen is made up of a combination
of pieces by our
custom shop, and several original cabinets that
were carefully refinished. Neatly applied moldings
wrap and connect all the cabinets, providing
dressing and continuity to the design. |

David trowels on one of several paint layers -- so that's
how they do that!

 |

Several of the original cabinets were re-used and refinished
in a matching paint.

Painter Matt Cooper worked long hours, did a great job
and was always good natured.

It
is said that a new kitchen involves thousands
of choices -- some of them major, some of
them minor, and hopefully, some of them fun!
It helps to discover a friendly pro, who is
willing to listen to your own ideas, but brings
their professional eye to the table as well.
We certainly enjoyed working with a number
of these 'best of the best' here on this kitchen!
