The fascinating collection of old photos that these home-owners are so fortunate to have includes this wonderful c1885 view of the old house. The kitchen, and original cooking fireplace occupy the back left corner room. On the first floor, just to the left of the ladder, you can see one 'window' is not -- nor has it ever been -- a real window. It is instead a matching niche in the brick to maintain the symmetry of this formal brick house.

     

Already by c1905 the original rear ell of the house had been rebuilt, as can be seen in this view about twenty years later. Note the spindly little trees out front -- these have now grown into magestic overhanging shade trees that tower over the house today!
